ABOUT ESCEA
|
Escea is a classic New Zealand success story. Beginning in Dunedin in 2002, Escea’s founders, Nigel Bamford, Alan McGregor and Garth Milmine, started with a single idea: that the home fireplace should not only be efficient and easy to use, but should also be a thing of remarkable beauty. Since then, Escea has become a well-established industry leader in the design, manufacture and export of leading edge gas fireplaces and outdoor wood burners. Our fireplaces are renowned for their modern, minimalist styling, heating efficiency and ease of use. In recent years, business growth has been dramatic, and we currently export our award winning designs to countries such as Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. Award Winning SuccessEscea’s rapid success, which has seen the company grow from having no employees to a full-time staff of 42, has been recognised through a number of industry awards. For three years in a row, the company featured as one of New Zealand’s 50 fastest growing companies (Deloitte Fast 50 Index), as well as being the recipient of the Westpac Otago Chamber of Commerce Award (2006 & 2008). CEO Nigel Bamford has also been recognised for his entrepreneurial talent and vision, through his selection as a finalist for the Ernest & Young, Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (2006), and through admission to the NZ Enterprise Trust Hall of Talent. Innovative Research and DevelopmentEscea’s rapid success has centred on a combination of innovative design, exemplary management practices, and creative marketing flair. Our strong commitment to on-going research and product development has led to a number of innovative refinements that have allowed our award winning designs to stay ahead of the curve – cementing Escea’s position as an industry leader. As part of this commitment, in 2009 Escea moved to its own purpose-built factory in the Dunedin suburb of Green Island. The building houses the production line, storage for domestic and export sales, our own in-house power coating plant, development offices, and showroom facilities. A Strong Environmental CommitmentCaring for the world is central to Escea’s philosophy. As a practical demonstration of the company’s desire to give back to the environment, one tree is planted in a registered carbon sink forest for every fireplace produced. Although a fossil fuel, gas is considered the cleanest burning fuel option currently available. Through its on-going R & D programme, Escea continually strives to produce more efficient fireplaces, while at the same time searching for new and improved fuel options. |

Best looking zero clearance heater and the logs were the most realistic!” “We were one of Escea's first fans and were ecstatically happy with our IB850. We are building again and would like to order another Escea fire for our new home”. |
