I am interested in a double sided fireplace, is this part of the Escea model range?
Unfortunately Escea do not offer a double sided fireplace. Much of our rationale of not offering one is based around efficiencies.
Some of the double sided fireplaces on the market are open on one side, and while this creates good ambience it tends to result in large amounts of warm air from the room being sucked up the chimney. Even with fully enclosed double sided fires you often end up heating a room with no people in it when you run the fire. In addition, without a back to the fireplace you cannot reflect the heat back into the room as effectively. Whilst the see-through fire looks good, we feel the drawbacks ou tweigh the benefits. It is often possible to install two of our gas fires back to back giving you the advantages of being able to control the heat in each room, and also the option of a higher heat output, often this option is no more expensive than a single double sided fire.
Do Escea fireplaces come with a zero clearance rating?
Yes the ST900 is zero rated.
What types of gas will your fireplaces run on?
All Escea fires will run on either Propane or Natural Gas
Does escea offer any freestanding units?
Yes there is a kitset enclosure for the EF5000 outdoor fireplace.
Can I install an Escea fireplace without using an Escea fascia or cover?
No, the Escea fireplaces come with an Escea fascia or cover that is custom made to fit the fireplace.
Can I use crushed glass inside you fireplace?
Escea have a Crystalight fuel bed which gives the effect of crushed glass. Crystalight comes in Blue, Black and Transparent (see fuel bed options below)
Are your fireplaces authorized to be installed in the United States?
Yes, our units are CSA certified please go to Manuals & Technical to download the certicates
ST900 Indoor Direct Vent Fireplace
How low can the ST900 fireplace be installed so that it does not require a hearth?
As long as the cavity for the fire is 4" off the floor then you are not required to have a hearth
Can a TV be mounted above the ST900?
Yes; Escea recommend that the the TV is recessed into the wall so that the screen is rebated back 2" from the wall surface and that the TV cavity is 21.6" above the fireplace fascia.
How many looks are available for the ST900?
There are 4 styles of fascia for the ST900 available in different finishes:
Velo (picture frame look) available in 3 finishes:

Ferro (linear look) avauilable in 4 finishes:
Stainless steel

How many fuel beds are available for the ST900?
There are 7 fuel beds available:
Black coals
White coals
White stone and drift wood

How much pipe do I need to come off the ST900 unit before I can go out the wall?
The ST900 needs a minimum of three feet of rise before it can go out the wall, please see our installation manual available on our web site under Manuals & Technical
Can I start with a straight piece of pipe on the ST900 or do I gave to start with a 30 degree elbow?
Yes, you can start with a straight piece of pipe off the unit body and then add the 30 degree elbow to return to a 90 degree angle, or vertical. It is important to always adhere to the manufactures clearances to combustibles and maintain them throughout the installation.
On the ST900 can I hardwire the unit instead of using batteries?
Yes, it ia possible to install a 5 volt transformer and bypass the battery pack. Please consult with your dealer or Escea to recieve a guide for performing this operation.
EF5000 Outdoor Gas Fireplace
Does the EF5000 outdoor fireplace require a flue?
No, the outdoor fire is flueless
Is the EF5000 outdoor fire weather proofed?
Yes, it is made of quality stainless steel with the internal materials being #304 grade and the Fascia is an architectural grade stainless steel.
There is also an optional weather shield to cover the fuel bed when it is not in use.
Can I put a glass front on the EF5000?
The EF5000 is a ventfree fireplace and is designed without a glass front to allow maximum heat into the surrounding area. So, the answer is "no' a glass front can not be added to the EF5000.
How many fascia options are available for the EF5000?
There are 2 style options available for the EF5000 in different finishes:
Ferro (linear)
- Stainless steel
- Florentine Bronze
Verta (stainless steel with natural inserts in the top and the bottom)
- Travertine Natural Stone Insert
- Granite Natural Stone Insert
- User Supplied Insert

Can I purchase the outdoor wood fireplace without a frame or fascia?
Yes, the outdoor wood fireplace is available with or without a frame (fascia)
Am I able to cook food on the outdoor wood fireplace?
Yes the outdoor wood fireplace come with a cooking plate that can be placed at 3 different levels for different heat requirements.
Is the Kitset enclosure that is available for the outdoor gas fireplace available for the wood fireplace also?
Yes the outdoor wood and gas fireplace are very similar in appearance and use the same free standing unit or kitset enclosure.
