Are gas fireplaces safe?

Modern Direct Vent room-sealed gas fireplaces, like Escea’s, are one of the safest types of gas fireplaces you can install in your home.

These fireplaces are completely sealed to the room – the air used for combustion comes from outside, and all fumes are expelled back outside too. This means no exhaust gases enter your home, making them safer for your health, and more efficient than open-front gas fireplaces.

Like any heating appliance, the glass can get hot to touch while the fire is operating. For added peace of mind, Escea offers optional mesh screens on many gas models to help protect little hands and paws. Every Escea gas fireplace is built with an airtight steel firebox, tested multiple times during manufacturing, run on high before shipping, and includes a thermostat to prevent overheating.

How do I control a gas fireplace?

Escea indoor gas fireplaces can be controlled either with a slimline remote or through the Escea SmartHeat App.

‍

The remote lets you adjust temperature, flame settings, fan boost, and basic on/off functions. The remote acts as the thermostat so it must stay in the same room as the fireplace, monitoring the room temperature.

The SmartHeat App offers even more flexibility, allowing you to control your fireplace from the couch, or in the car, and set timers or schedules for effortless comfort.
