Laid-back Luxury | Sikata House by The Designory

A stone’s throw to the beach and a just a leisurely stroll to the most popular brunch spots and watering holes, Sikata House is the sum total of everything there is to love about Byron Bay.

Inspired by global experiences, Sikata is home to the wanderer, those drawn to culture and fascinated with the world around them.

Inside, the interior palette is inspired by the local geography – with sandy tones and raw and rustic textures.

Boasting multiple living areas, three large living rooms and a generous outdoor entertaining space – Sikata was imagined as the backdrop of occasions – facilitating reunions of family and friends all under one roof.

Like Byron, Sikata house urges its inhabitants to slow, unwind, and completely relax with luxurious touches abundant throughout the home. The bathroom channels a Balinese day spa, with a deep, freestanding stone bathtub.

THE FIREPLACE

Brimming with character and steeped in soul the Sikata Living room is an archive of worldly treasures and vintage finds that decorate a cosy conversation corner and provide plenty of conversation starters.

An Escea DFS730 Freestanding Gas Fireplace warms the space, ensuring it remains cosy and comfortable on Byron’s cool nights.

The traditional square form of the fireplace is the perfect addition to the eclectic space.

“We chose the free standing Escea DFS730 in a black finish to create a simple yet stunning feature in the living room and add to the etheral feeling of beauty that pervades the home and stays with you long after you leave."

- Melissa Bonney, The Designory

The fire sits on a cantilevered plinth which stretches out to the kitchen and dining, emphasising the “togetherness” of the home.

“The plinth was designed to create a shelf in the room which we styled - we loved the idea of raising the fireplace to eye level rather than leaving it on the ground. It gives a focal point and brings a connection to the surrounding open plan rooms. The natural tiles add an extra touch of texture and warmth to the room."

Sikata House

The fireplace seamlessly conforms with the laid-back theme of the home – effortlessly sophisticated and functional.
